Bufo’s LoRa based Wireless Sensor Transmitter with RS 485 Modbus RTU input offers reliable, secure wireless connectivity to remote sensors and controllers. The wireless transmitter module supports Modbus RTU protocol via RS 485 serial connection for data acquisition from third party devices including PLCs, sensors, meters, recorders and controllers.
The transmitters offers bi-directional connectivity between the remote sensors & controllers and the central data monitoring system over a secure private radio-frequency network. Powered by open standard LoRaWAN technology, transmitters can achieve long range communication up to 5 km in industrial landscape even outside line of sight.
Transmitters are fully plug and play based modules which can be configured remotely over the air (OTA) without need of any external tool. They are compliant with open sourced LoRaWAN protocol, which makes the tranmitters compatible with any LoRaWAN gateway.
Salient Features
- Long range wireless communication with range up to 5 km in industrial terrain using LoRaWAN technology.
- Supports Modbus RTU protocol over RS 485 with the transmitter being configured in Modbus Master mode.
- Besides data acquisition, transmitter also has optional relay based digital output which can be controlled via remote commands.
- Easy to install and remotely configurable.
- Serial communication parameters like baudrate, parity, stop bit, modbus registers mapping, slave id etc. can be configured over the air by sending LoRaWAN downlinks.
- Compliant with open standard LoRaWAN 1.0.3 specifications. Class C device with OTA activation.
- Supports bi-directional communication between the transmitter and the LoRaWAN application server. Modbus response from the slave device is sent via LoRaWAN uplink at regular (configurable) interval to the LoRaWAN app server. The tra
- Works in unlicensed ISM band. Supported frequency range are EU868, AU915/AS923-1, US915, IN865 and AS923.
- Scalable. A LoRaWAN network can support 1000s of transmitter nodes.
